Homecoming Spirit Week! - Thursday - Nerd Day

So, yesterday, it was Nerd Day! Time to embrace the inner nerd - I am one already  ;D
Anyways I was kinda curious.. what do the actual legit nerds think of this?
(Wednesday was Superhero Day, which I skipped out on because I didn't have anything remotely super hero like).
This outfit consists of nerdy chic. It actually is really a cool and preppy style lately- which blows my mind, in a good way :D
Some people went all out nerd with suspenders and everything but I decided to keep it in a way that was still- I dunno, realistic?

So these glasses as you can see- are pretty awesome. Haha they're basically sunglasses that I popped the lenses out of. I really liked the style actually- I might wanna get nerd glasses as prescription! Anyways, as you can see, they're really big classic black frames with hot pink sides- which you will see will be tied in later in the rest of the outfit- can't forget my OCD matching!

As you can see, I just left my hair in a messy ponytail. I wore a dress shirt that was light pin-striped blue, which you can't really see in the picture.. I don't know if you can see, but there is also the Hollister logo on the pocket, which is a slight reddish color. You will see shades of red and pink throughout this outfit; I did not just match a single shade of pink and single shade of blue, but the color scheme this time is rather variations of blue x variations of pink/red.
You can see the dress shirt more clearly in this shirt. I tucked it in, but in the back I left it out to give it a messy touch and create an illusion of a high low hem to give it a modern touch. I rolled up the sleeves and left some buttons some open to give it a pulled together classic-modern-preppy look. I wore a brown belt on my straight leg blue jeans to add some warmth to the look - since pink/red is a warmer tone it matched quite well. It also contains silver so it will match my necklace (shown later) and match the cool tone of the blue of the dress shirt.

I wore the same bracelet as I did on Monday, you will see I re-wear jewelry pieces A LOT. Especially bracelets, since I have a limited amount of high - quality ones. This one really works because the cream and gold add warmth and match the belt I wore.

The picture turned out really blurry. But basically, the necklace I wore was a simple silver friendship necklace- nerds aren't alone ;) The silver adds to the cool tone and matches the belt buckle that I wore. Also, it has a pink jewel that matches my glasses.

The shoes I wore with this outfit are a much loved favorite of mine. They're really cute, preppy sneakers. They have a red and blue and white plaid design- red represents the variation of red in the outfit, and blue- the blue in the outfit. It really ties the whole outfit together. It also has brown "leather" trim that matches the belt and warm tones of the jewelry I wore earlier. Also, it has a few inches in it's platform so it makes me feel taller!

Glasses- Gift
Button Down- Hollister
Jeans- Kohls
Belt- Liz Claiborne
Bracelet- Banana Republic
Necklace- Claire's
Shoes- Ralph Lauren

I hope you enjoyed this whole "nerdy style". :) I'll be uploading my Class Colors OOTD for Friday soon. Stay tuned <3

Homecoming Spirit Week! - Tuesday - Decade Day

As you saw from last post, this whole week is themed, as it is homecoming week! :D Today was Decade Day- so you could wear clothing themed after the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s. I kind of went for the 40s through 60s era.. (more of the 50's) this era was very feminine and focused on dresses that accentuated the woman's hourglass figure- somewhat pin up girl style.

(**By the way, I am not that short. I was bending over:))
(* Yes those are glasses I am holding. I took off my contacts!)

Anyways the color theme I followed today is mainly red-blue-black. I love my dress because it is quite feminine, it has a classic high neckline and an hourglass waist (which you can't really see because I was bending over to get into the camera frame). I'll get more into that later.

The shoes I wore today were a recent purchase but I absolutely LOVEE IT! It's a beautiful bright but vampy sort of red, perfect for fall and they are REALLY comfortable. They are platforms and the black soles give the look of creeper shoes (reminds me of the fashion vlogger clothesencounters!) which remind me of the 90's grungy style- yet its really feminine because of its color and shape. Since its platform, but not heel, it's comfortable while giving me a few inches on my height :)

The dress I wore, as I mentioned was quite classic. It has an accentuated hourglass figure, tied together by a beautiful bow in the front. I think it captured the 50s style in a modern way. I threw a short bolero-style cardi over it, in a black color to balance the look with the black soled shoes (I love matching!)

For accessories, I put on my classic BCBG red bracelet, with the lettering "True <3" (true love).

To match the silver on my bracelet, I put on a very simple diamond flower necklace.

For hair, I was going to curl my hair, but hey- what can I say? I didn't have time in the morning today :P So simple, messy ponytail it was. I still think it looked really pretty and doll-like in the end.
For makeup, I stayed simple as always and put a muted darker-berry toned red lip (although you cannot really see it in the previous pictures).

Dress- Abercrombie and Fitch
Shoes- ZigiSoho (Nordstrom Rack)
Bolero- Target
Necklace- Gift
Bracelet- BCBGeneration

I hope I can make more daily OOTDs for the rest of spirit week! Tomorrow is Superhero Day, but I don't have anything superhero.. so I might end up skipping out on that one- if I DO upload an OOTD tomorrow, it probably will not be superhero themed, but anyways...

Don't forget to subscribe and follow <3

Homecoming Spirit Week! - Monday - Neon Day

This week is homecoming, and every day is a different theme.
Today, Monday, it was NEON DAY. :) I wanted to make my outfit pop, but not be too extravagant- so I focused the pop of color just in my tank and played down the rest of my outfit.
I've been really busy, so sorry for not posting! I'm going to be trying to do at least a couple OOTDs each week. This week should be fun fashion wise because it is all themed.

NEON.

ARTSYY photo. So I kept my hair messy and tousled, all natural- I wanted this look to look very casual and athletic in a way :)

(My hair looks a mess. Ahahaha). For my top, I went with a neon, bright, highlighter pink tank. It's quite simple, with a flowy figure and a racerback in the back with an exposed golden zipper, which gives the neon vibe a more warm affect. As you can tell, I am also wearing a navy blue cami underneath- want to keep it school appopriate and the pink really pops on the blue (my jeans are also the same shade of blue, so it really stands out).

I wore navy blue jeggings to really create a monotone effect under the neon pink tank. I think it was quite classic and simple really. The loose flowy tank over the skinny legging-like jeans also creates a slimming effect.

For shoes, I went with my classic Calvin Klein flats, the silver brings out the cool tones of the neon color, which is also offsetted by the gold detailing of the zipper on the tank and the accessories which I will show you.

The necklace I wore is a great piece, given to me by a friend. It's a long chain, which streamlines the flowy figure of the tank, as it is a sharp V form. The necklace itself is a bronzy gold color (in the picture, it looks tinted with blue, which is not like it at all), which gives it a nice rustic look to it. It has an engraved owl - which I love.

What I love about this necklace that it also opens up to a clock! Unfortunately it does not work anymore...

And for "arm candy", I went with a simple cream/gold bracelet that definitely brings out the warmth in the outfit, making it a great fall-to-summer transition piece (by the way, it is still upper 80s here, so the weather is perfect for this type of clothing).

Tank- Love On a Hanger (Nordstrom Rack)
Cami- Ann Taylor
Flats- Calvin Klein
Necklace- Gift
Bracelet- Banana Republic

This is not a complex outfit, but it's a way to start. Hopefully I can post many more OOTDs each week and get into a routine. For now, this is all- I hope you liked my neonwear for today's spirit day. :)

Top Five of the Week - Favorite Summer Colors

Hey guys, I'm starting a weekly segment where I give you my personal Top Five (TF) list of anything fashion or makeup related. To start this series, I'm going to share my favorite colors for this summer. Let's get started.
__________________________________________________

5.  Yellow
(I got this cute collage from polyvore.com; check them out!)
Yellow was never one of my favorite colors, but just recently, I've started to fall in love with it for this summer! Yellow is one of those colors that can pretty much be matched with any other color, depending on the shade. Trending shades this summer are fluorescent, pale, and mustard (as you can see above). I like this color for clothes because it looks great in contrast with a summer tan, and gives any outfit a cheerful, bright look, and looks great with several other trending colors this summer (eg. the colors in this list). So try out some yellow clothes this summer! If you're not feeling so bold though, try out some yellow accessories. Yellow rings, earrings, and bracelets add little splashes of color to any outfit without taking it over.

4. Blue
Blue is really in this summer. I pretty much love all shades of blue, my favorite being light blue (like the pleated skirt in the bottom right corner of the photo) and that deep royal blue (like the chiffon shirt right above that skirt). Blue is great for the summer because it's good for any look you're trying to accomplish whether it's business,  casual, or formal. You can pair blue with several colors like pink, orange, yellow, gold, white and black! If you're feeling bold, go for a playful fluorescent blue, if you're feeling mellow, go for a pale light blue. There's a shade of blue for every mood!

Accessories are great in blue too, to either lighten up or darken your outfit. I love the tassel earrings in the photo above, which are a perfect example of a fun daring look that will wake up any cute summer outfit. Blue rings also are a pretty finishing touch to an outfit.

3. Fuchsia

Fuchsia landed number three on my top five chart because I absolutely love this color for summer. Vibrant and energetic, fuchsia is a cute color that looks good with every skin tone. Wearing a fuchsia blazer for business shows that you're a young, energetic professional; wearing fuchsia casually shows that you have a fun personality without being too out there.

Having just fuchsia heels/flip flops adds a bright pop of color to any outfit. It's a great accent color! Accessories in fuchsia are a must-have for me. When I don't feel like having a completely bright outfit but just a little splash of color, fuchsia is one of my go-to colors for accessories because it's compatible with so many of the colors I wear commonly. I love matching it with royal blue, dark purple, and other cool dark colors. I suggest if there's no fuchsia in your wardrobe, try it out the next time you hit the clothing store.

2. Nudes
Unlike the bright colors you've already read about in this top five countdown, nudes are the opposite. I absolutely love nudes! They're really becoming a big trend these days. My favorite part about them is that you can match them with virtually any bright color. Blue, yellow, pink, gold, purple, and many more colors are compatible with it. It's mellow enough to create a pleasant balance if paired with a bright color, but pigmented enough to create a cute and light summer look if worn on its own. You'll find that most nude chiffon tops feature pleats, ruffles, or some other texture. That's another thing that I love. Ruffles and pleats dress the simple color up, creating a great formal look that can also be dressed down with some jean shorts or casual pants. Skirts, pants, and shorts in nude tones are commonly paired with bright flowy tops, and the tops tend to be paired with bright pants. But wearing nude colored dresses can look just as cute if you add some bright accessories. Shoes in this color do a good job of slightly neutralizing or toning down any look, or complimenting any cream colored piece in an outfit.

Nude accessories are often used to tone down a vibrantly colored outfit or to compliment an already simple look. I love wearing nude necklaces, earrings, and rings because they literally go with anything. They make a statement and put that finishing touch on an outfit without being overbearing like brightly colored accessories could end up being. In conclusion, I recommend you try out any nude colors.

1. Red
Now, to my number one favorite summer color! In fact, when I discovered an adorably red striped top the weekend before school ended, I decided red would be my color for the summer season. Anyway, back to the facts. Red is really trending again. As I've read in many places on the web, "red is the new black!" Red is the absolute best summer color because it's classic, bold, cheery, and perfect for any occasion. If you want a casual beach party look, any shade of red in a cute crop top or tank will be perfect. Want a chic modern look? Try some high waisted shorts with a cute flourish in a deep royal red. Same thing if you're trying to achieve a sophisticated and youthful business look. Red is the classic sexy color, too. If you're going to a party, formal or casual, try out a poppy red pencil skirt, or the classic skintight deep red dress. And for those of you who are hesitant to try it out, don't worry! Red looks stunning on any skin tone. Whether you have a deep chocolate or ivory skin tone, there's a shade of red out there that's compatible with your skin. If you've tried red before and it just hasn't worked for you, I suggest just trying a different shade. Bright reds tend to look better on tanned or dark skin because it really stands out. While poppy reds can look good on lighter skin, it sometimes can look a bit harsh. Deeper and darker reds tend to compliment paler shades of skin.

Red looks great with black, white, yellow, orange, pink, gold, silver, and tons of other colors. You can make pretty much any color work with red, so have fun with it! Try pairing bold fluorescent colors with it, or even neutral colors. You'd be surprised at what looks good. I've seen people pair bright blue and red together and pull it off beautifully, which is surprising (to me at least) because red and blue are one of my least favorite color combinations.

Red accessories are my absolute favorite. These are my number one go-to accessories. Since red is such a classic and elegant color, you can easily dress up any outfit with some cute vintage-looking accessories or shoes, or add some fun to it by throwing on a red headband with a playful flower and some bangles. I love adding that extra pop of color to my outfits. Accessorizing with red is the right way to go!

Now that you've read my top five favorite summer colors, I hope it inspires you to try out some of these colors if you haven't already, and try out some bold color combinations! Have fun with it.

Thanks for reading. More posts coming soon!

Simple Light Summer OOTD+NOTD

Hey guys! It's Angie...;) Originally... this post was supossed to go up yesterday... awkward....
But you know, I was busy! But here it is. This OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) features gray and white as neutrals and a bunch of bright colors, because neons are in for summer (the colors aren't exactly neon.. but colors in general are very IN.).

The material of the clothing in this OOTD is very light, so it won't weigh you down in the summer. In the summer, it's great to not layer with clothing, but with accessories. This time, however, I layered clothing, but not that much with accessories (though I AM obsessed with arm candy/arm swag, which is also a huge trend). When you layer clothing, make sure to pick materials that are very breathable, or else you'll be sweating a ton and not looking as fashionable as you thought you would look like...

Anyways so let's get started.

Haha okay so first of all, that is not my OOTD, that plain grey tank top. I'm just doing this in order so you can see the process of the layering! #clever And I'll be listing where I got the individual item below each picture.

Grey Tank top-Gap

^Like so. Not that hard right? Hahaha. But seriously, I love the tank top. It is seriously the most lightest thing ever.

Now, I put on this white short sleeve cardi above it. It's great because it's a sheer material so it feels really cool to the touch, AND its short sleeve. It's perfect for summer, and for when you wear tank tops/dresses to school (to make it school appropriate!)

White cardi- Aenoc from Korea

This outfit is basically a ton of neutrals PLUS a pop of color. The pop of color? You guessed it. The scarf. I love this scarf. These kind of scarves are very sheer and light, and they are called spring/summer scarves, and.. super fashionable hehehe. The scarf has a color scheme of red, pink, and yellow, which you will see later on in this outfit.

Scarf- Van Hausen

The shorts are white, to go with the cardi and to stay with the neutral pallete. If you really want an accessory to pop (the scarf in this case) you should go for a mixed neutral pallete for the rest of your outfit, along with some complimetary pieces (which will show below..)

Shorts-Yaso

This bracelet...okay let's take a break here. I LOVE THIS BRACELET. I actually got it not that long ago... I've been wanting this since forever. It's a true staple piece in any arm candy/swag collection, and really cute as well. The YouTuber Meghan from meghanrosette actually introduced me to this. Anyways, since my outfit is really simple, I decided to go with simplistic arm candy, in this case, this bracelet. It is red (obviously...) to go with the red dots on the scarf, and has silver lettering to go with the grey tank top. Jewelry is really easy to figure out with outfits, if it is more cool toned, go with silver. If it is more warm toned, go with gold. And this outfit is obviously more cool toned, with the whites and greys as neutral, so this bracelet really works. And you know what makes it even more cute? That this bracelet says TRUE HEART on it. Seriously. To die for.

Bracelet- BCBGeneration from Dillards

Super duper cute so I just HAD to put another picture. Hahaha.

These are pictures of the full look, I wish I could've done it outside in natural lighting, but at the time it was night.. hehe I hope that the lighting is decent. As you can see, it's a very light and casual look, yet it has that put together feel... Great for those simple summer activities when you wanna stay cool but trendy. :)

For shoes, I paired them with my trusty silver (again, the color silver goes with cool tone and grey tank and silver accented arm swag) flats.

Flats- Calvin Klein

For my nails (actually toenails.. haha I'm trying to nourish my fingernails back to health so in the meantime... toenails it is!) I used the polishes above. Pink and brown are complimentary colors in the fashion world, so I did a modern update and paired coral with gold.

Gold Nail Polish- Orly- Luxe
Coral Nail Polish- Mineral Fusion- Coral Reef

That's the nail look I did with the color scheme, it's technically can't even be qualified for "nail art"! It's just all the nails painted the coral color with gold tip on the big thumb toe or whatever you call it :P I love the color pairing, it's completely summary and coral is great for both spring AND summer.

So yeah, that's my entire look! It's really simple so if you were expecting something extravagant.. well ;) Don't worry, I have a weird style so their will be MANY different OOTDs and blog posts to come. By the way, be looking out for 4th of July looks, on here on the blog from Maddie, and on YouTube from me.

And clearing up some confusion here...

Thanks everybody for following, wow 6 followers already! Hehehe even though that may not seem like a lot, it seems like a lot to us ;) So keep it up! For those of you who are confused, there is a followers widget on the site right next to the posts. You will see all the followers and above it, you will see a "Join This Site" and then a popup will show up, asking you to log in your Google (which means either your Gmail or Google+ account, anything owned by Google), twitter, Yahoo!, AIM, Netlog, or OpenID to follow the site. Obviously, this is a lot of sites so there should be no excuse to follow ;) Some people are confused however- you DO NOT need to have a Blogger account to follow. You can just sign into Google or whatever and then it will show up on a dashboard whenever you visit Blogger. It may sound confusing... but it's easy to figure out once you get used to it. :)

Also, if that seems to confusing for you, or you easily forget sites that you like to check back on, then there will be a widget below that says "Follow by Email", which is much easier. You enter your email (don't worry, there's no spam) and it will send you email alerts whenever someone posts on this blog so you can stay updated. It is very easy!

And don't forget to comment as well. You can sign in with your Google, LiveJournal, WordPress, TypePad, AIM, or OpenID to comment.

Wow okay that was a lot.

Hahaha well see you soon, leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite part of the outfit was! :)

Quick and Cute Summer Eye Makeup!

The Finished Look
Now that everyone's out of school and the sun is shining, it's time to try out some fun bold colors to brighten up your summer! This is a colorful and quick look that is perfect for going to the beach (as long as you're not swimming, of course), summer parties, a picnics, and everyday summer activities. It takes about four minutes total, and all you need are three eyeliners in your favorite color combination. This post will show you how to create the look above in five simple steps.

Here are the products I used for this tutorial:

Avon's Eye Brightening Pencil Crayon in "Plumberry"

Avon's Super Shock Eyeliner in "Burnished Copper"
Maybelline Eyeliner Brush

Avon's Gilmmersticks Eyeliner in "Blue Flare G201"

My Favorite Mascara: CoverGirl's Professional Remarkable Washable Waterproof Mascara in  "Very Black"

Now, the five steps that will help you achieve the look:

1.
Start off with clean makeup-free eyes. (Add  concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone to cover dark circles and brighten up the eye area)

2.
Take the eye brightening pencil and line the inner third of your upper lash line and a third of the bottom lash line.

3.
Then take the gold eyeliner and line the rest of your top lash line and only the middle of your bottom lash line.

4.
Then take the blue glitterstick and line the outermost third of your bottom lash line and take it up a little to form a slight cat eye.
Blend the edges of all three colors together to create a pretty gradient look.

5.
Finally, add your favorite mascara!

And that's it.

In natural light, this color combination looks surprisingly neutral, but still wakes up your face with the vibrant colors and sparkle. This combination is my personal favorite, but you can experiment with any colors. I hope you use this bold look to brighten up your everyday summer activities.

Be sure to leave comments below to tell us how the look worked for you or any thoughts, suggestions, or feedback!
Thanks for reading, and see you soon.
